Haden Stone, known as Aden, has been jumping from mental institutions, to foster care, and juvie since he was born, all because he talks to the voices in his head. But what happens when the voices are real? What happens when one can time travel, one can raise the dead, one can possess another human, and one can tell the future? You’ll need to read to find out! Aden hasn’t had a peaceful time inside his head with four souls living inside. Until he meets the mysterious girl, who seems to attract and repulse him at the same time, and has the ability to suppress the souls. Their meeting had such an intense reaction that it has sent out a magical pulse that now has every supernatural faction moving in to investigate!Mary Ann Gray is an average girl. She has good grades, a cool boyfriend and a fifteen-year plan she’s sticking to no matter what. That is, until she sees the boy in the cemetery and her world spins out of control. Suddenly she has supernatural powers, discovers her ex-boyfriend is part demon, and is falling in love with a werewolf!Riley and Veronica are the first to contact the intriguing boy who has called out to them. And though they’ve only come to investigate and possibly exterminate this threat, they soon find themselves deeply involved in more ways than one. Unlikely bonds are formed between these people, and they’ll find themselves fighting for what they believe in, and to protect the ones they love. The story grabs you from the start and never lets go! The alternating stories of Aden and Mary Ann were equally engaging, so I never felt the need to skip ahead to favorite parts because they were all favorites. The other characters were well developed and their stories equally interesting. I loved that everyone seemed to have his/her own hidden agenda. It made me hesitant to trust anything that was being said or done. The end was a surprise, and I can’t wait for the whole lot of trouble they’ll have to deal with in the following books.
